I'm deploying XP Pro SP3 computers using 2003 server R2 SP2 with WDS in
native mode.
Is there any way of customising WinPE to specify a custom computer name
exactly as you could using RIS - custom setup option; as I name PC's/laptops
based upon an asset tag sticker on the machine, unfortunately at present
without this functionality it means that I have to wait for the image to
deploy, login and manually change the computer name from the default options
that WDS supplies (standard system variables)???

Cheers

Use MDT 2008 for your deployments, it is free download, integrates
nicely with WDS, and has a ready made deployment wizard for asking for
things like computer name at deployment start....
