LiteTouch.wsf run from server cannot connect to server

I am running a Refresh scenario on Windows XP with MDT 2010. I run
LiteTouch.wsf on the target computer, directly from the Scripts folder
on the MDT server. The wizard completes, and a bunch of time passes.
Then I get an error message (the server's name is Monolith):

A connection to the deployment share (\\MONOLITH\Deployment$)
could not be made. The deployment will not proceed.

I am sure that I am using an account that has full control of the
deployment and user state shares, NTFS, and SQL database. New Computer
scenarios work perfectly with this user account.

Here are the contents of LiteTouch.log, if they help. You can see the
connection failure, but not what's wrong.

Hello,
I am receiving the same exact error after upgrading from RC to RTW. I have
upgraded the lab and linked deployment shares without errors. I get the
following errors in my BDD.log

-Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using
more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous
connections to the server or shared resource and try again.
-Unable to connect to \\dfs-00\setup\lab. Sleeping for 10 seconds.
-ERROR - Unable to map a network drive to \\dfs-00\setup\lab.
-Unable to connect to \\dfs-00\setup\lab. Connection OK. Possible cause:
invalid credentials.

Again, browsing to \\dfs-00\setup\lab\Scripts and running LiteTouch.vbs
worked great until we upgraded to RTW. Other than upgrading the lab and
linked deployment shares; is there another step or change that we are
missing?

You are not alone :) it's a known issue...

Workaround:
Map a network drive to the deployment share and start the deployment
from the mapped drive.

Oho! A known issue! (I couldn't find anything about it, even after much
searching.) I tried the workaround and it worked. Thanks a lot, Johan!

Is this an error in a script file? Can I edit the script to make it work
with UNCs?

You are not alone :) it's a known issue...
Map a network drive to the deployment share and start the deployment
from the mapped drive.
