SMS 2003 OSD and Vista

Folks,

I have SMS 2003 with the Updated version of the OSD pack.

I capture a Vista desktop with my OSD capture disk using the local version
of Sysprep but when I try and deploy my captured image the desktop does the
following:

1) Cleans the HD as per usual
2) It then displays a fatal error message with the error code: 2147500037 in
the Install WIM task.

Does anyone know what is happening? The OSD system works fine with Windows
XP (I deployed over 1,000 machines with it in the summer)

Also could anyone give me some pointers as to how to do this? since the
internet resources are a little vague!

Thanks,

Did your bootstrap.ini reflect the new package?

Can you post the logfiles... should onöy be a few since it abort so
early...

Have you configured winbom.ini to wipe the disk?

Hi,

I don't have any logfiles since it never installed any OS or anything. I
don't alter the INI files since I configure the SMS package to do the setup.
Although some of the options don't relate to Vista.

I think we have SMS SP2 do we need to install SMS SP3? Also I have read that
Windows PE needs to be updated to v2005 but I have no access to the install
files for this.

Thanks,

Martin S.

Martin,
If you are imaging that many machines, you might want to look at the
Universal Imaging Utility. I know a couple Universities in the UK that
currently use it. It saves huge time and money. www.uiu4you.com
