I have installed Vista SP1, MS Office 2K7, Lotus Notes 6.5 (<-- not by
choice), an MRP Application, etc... onto a computer. I have set all of the
shortcuts that need to appear onto the desktop for all users. After testing
that all applications work properly, I run the SYSPREP tool. Image the
computer with ImageX, deploy the image to a different computer, and when i
log onto the computer, the Shortcuts are no longer on the desktop. When I
click on the Vista Start button -> All Programs, the programs that I have
installed are not listed. BUT - If I go into the C:\Program Files\ I can see
where the applications I have installed reside. I have repeated the process
a few times, and have tried different SYSPREP options (GUI version) each
time. Is there something I am doing incorrectly, or should be doing
differently?
I should tell you we are not currently using SMS/SCCM. I am using MDT 2K7,
WAIK 1.1, etc.. as needed to deploy/create an image, Win 2K3 Domain, .
If it is best to have an .MSI created for each aplication, and deploy it
through GPO, I can learn that process using 2003 Domain.
