Can the MDT tast sequences be imported into SMS 2003 as they can be in SCCM
2007?

Also, I see that MDT can call SMS package ID's and install SMS packages at
image time. How does that work?

Does this work only when MDT tasks are in SMS 2003, or can it work when MDT
is stand-alone?

Thanks

SMS 2003 cannot import the MDT task sequences, there is no real
integration like it is in SCCM 2007...

As for packages, MDT can build a list of SMS apps to be installed
during the state restore phase (e.g. without the sms client running,
and without any advertisment). The normal approach is that you create
roles in the MDT database, assign a list of applications to that role,
and then assign the role to a PC, or to a standard role that everybody
gets using customsettings.ini. You can use both customsettings.ini
and the dabatase to assign the sms applications.

When MDT is standalone, you add the applications to the deployment
workbench, but you can still apply them the same way as you do with
packages
