MDT 2008 - windows update errors

Hello,

I am getting the following errors pretty frequently... not every time, but
enough that the system as a whole would be considered 'broke'.

Error searching for updates: (-2147012867)
ZTI ERROR - Non-zero return code by ZTIWindowsUpdate, rc = 1

from ztiwindowsupdate

How do configure MDT to reliably include windows update functionality?

If you get this error randomly could be that there are some problems with
the server connecting to Microsoft Update.

Check this:

You will the best result when pointing MDT to a local WSUS... the
ztiwindiwsupdate script unfortunately is not very robust when
poingting to the external microsoft update... will work 19 of 20
times... but fail the 20th time...
