Hi All,

I currently have created a LTI MDT Environment that is able to do the
following tasks:
1. Deploy Windows XP SP3 Build
2. Capture USMT User Data
3. Restore USMT User Data
4. Capture WIM Image of Computer

I am looking to create a 5th option whereby admin's can Restore a WIM
Image of a Computer. I am currently using the ZTIBackup.wsf script to
capture the WIM.

I have found the following:
http://blogs.technet.com/aaronczechowski/archive/2007/11/27/how-to-restore-from-the-os-backup.aspx

But was looking to create something a bit simpler and not have to rely
on the success or failure of MDT. I just want to be able to prompt for
a Server Share and File Name and then have a Confrim screen that
states all data will be lost if they continue. Has anyone done this
before or have any ideas where I should start? Maybe even any advice
on how I can edit the ZTIBackup to become maybe a ZTIRestore?

Cheers,
Humphrey

Sorry, using ImageX as a backup tool (other than for restoring data
files), is not a good idea... at least not for Windows Vista and
above... restoring a sysprepped OS image works (of course) great, but
restoring a full "live" OS does not...

See this article

You cannot use the ImageX.exe tool as a backup tool on a Windows
Vista-based computer
